It was a cloudy day and my cat was up in the tree. he had always had very deep blue, but with all the defused light from the clouds and the contrast from the tree bark, It sent me running for my camera.I shot it on a Nikon D5600, with a 70 - 200mm lens, on January 25, 2024.I shot it raw while in manual mode, the aperture was 4.1, the iso 100, and the shutter speed was 1 over 700.

Sedgwick County Park in Wichita is one of my favorite places to go to relax and watch the wildlife. There almost always is something interesting happening to watch or take a photograph of. In this case I saw a ring billed gull in the distance picking something up out of the water. Gulls fortunately aren't really spooked by humans. I walked along the water to get as close as I could and realized it was trying to eat a bluegill. It was a pretty good sized bluegill too. I got a few pictur

Almost daily I drive through the park . On this particular morning , 1/5/24 I brought my camera along knowing the snow can make for some great photos. This stand of trees caught my attention. I liked how they were stacked behind each other and the contrast of the dark limbs with the white snow. . I took the photo from my car window. This photo is from early in my photography journey. I attended one of my first Seattle-based photography meet-ups and after the meet and greets, we split into small groups to find some compositions. I had been playing around with long exposures and light trails and the bright lights from the Great Wheel caught my eye. I spent a good amount of time that evening making new relationships and capturing this image.
