Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Wichita .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Wichita Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

She is a very good friend of mine, and she just turned 18 and wanted birthday pictures! I ended up finding the perfect spot and gave the pictures to her for a birthday present, and they turned out super cute!

I wish I had more of interesting background story for this photo. But, honestly, I consider it one of those ?happy accidents?. This was taken July 4, 2017. I had started taking photography classes in February of that year. Our instructor gave us handouts in how to capture fireworks if we wanted to try. I was in my front yard with fireworks going off all over our neighborhood. Set up my tripod, aimed my camera hoping to get a decent firework. And much to my surprise, I took this photo as one was

This is Liberty (aka Libbey), a deaf service dog owned by one of my best friends, whom I've known for decades. Since she was deaf, getting her attention was different from a normal dog. I usually use my voice, but had to wave stuff around to get her to look at me. So camera in one hand and big object in the other. Plus I had like one second before she decided to eat the candy cane. Fortunately, this was shot at 125th, aperture 6.3, ISO 100. I used a simple large softbox to the right in the imag

As part of my final project as a fourth-year photography major, I chose to explore and document Calgary?s sculptures, which embody the history and heritage of its people and landscape. One of the highlights of my work is By the Banks of the Bow, one of the largest sculptural artworks in North America. To enhance the visual impact of the image, I utilized Photoshop, particularly to create a dramatic sky that seamlessly complements the dynamism of the horses and the cowboy. This piece celebrate

This long exposure shot is from August, 2024. I was visiting Liberty State Park, New Jersey. From Liberty park you get such an AMAZING view of the NYC skyline looking across the water. It?s awesome during the day but even more magical at night as you can see. I?d recommend a visit here just for the views to anyone. A 2 shot panorama of a majestic sunrise with the beautiful curved beach running southward. A trail of footprints leads the way to this unspoilt place of serenity. Ancient sandstone rock formations frame the shot. Nikon Z8, 14-24 at f8, ISO64, 1/125th sec on tripod.

I loved the detail on this lizard. However, the background was very similar to the lizard body colour. In Lightroom I picked a background preset which toned it down somewhat, but not enough. So created a mask and turned down the background even further. A little ?pop? on the lizard skin and I was finished. I hope you like it.

With the cloud starting to clear I thought if I got lucky we might have a nice colourful sunset but colour didn't arrive. The deep colours presented over the Susan River by nature were fantastic however.
